Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The Plumber Technician is a skilled tradesperson working alongside the Master Plumber installing, inspecting and repairing pipes and plumbing systems to make sure all buildings’ fixtures operate correctly.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities- Under the direction of the Master Plumber, Plumber Technician’s duties include finding the source of leaks and blockages, fixing or replacing broken parts and testing the plumbing system.
- Carry out regular maintenance of plumbing systems.
- Perform installation/replacement of plumbing systems.
- Inspect previously installed plumbing systems.
- Perform any necessary repairs to previously installed systems.
- Answer calls for plumbing issues, be “on call” when on rotation.
- Keep up to date with current safety regulatuions and requirements for the various plumbing systems a college installs and maintains.
- Work carefully to follow all current regulations for plumbing work to ensure that all install system pass inspections.
- Communicate well with coworkers and upper management.
- Communicate well with team members and fellow employees.
- Manage a work log.
- Keep detailed reports of work done at various job sites.
- Provide information regarding plumbing system upkeep to upper management.
- Read blueprints and drawings to understand or plan the layout of plumbing, waste disposal and water supply systems.
- Cut, assemble and install pipes and tubes with attention to existing infrastructure (e.g. electrical wiring) .
- Install and maintain water supply systems.
- Locate and repair issues with water supply lines (e.g.leaks).
- Repair or replace broken drainage lines, clogged drains, faucets, etc.
- Install waste disposal and sanitary systems with well-functioning DWV systems.
- Have knowledge on landscaping sprlnkler system.

Required:
High School Diploma or GED.
Candidate should possess a minimum of 2 years experience in commercial plumbing and have a minimum of 2000 logged hours.
Employees driving an LC Vehicle must have a valid Texas Driver’s License.Additional Information
Supervision Exercised
Plumber Technician may at time supervise and/or direct Temporary (Elite) employees.
Supervision Received
Plumber Technician will directly supervised by Master Plumber and/or Assistant Director to Physical Plant.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.
The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment
Work is performed in a standard office environment.
Work inside a well-lighted and air-conditioned area most of the time.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

Special Conditions
Immediate supervisor may assign other duties.
